Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known as the "plastic king", is a high molecular weight polymer synthesized by polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene as a monomer. Its chemical formula is (C2F4) n. It has excellent heat and cold resistance and can be used for a long time at -180-260 º C. This material has the characteristics of acid resistance, alkali resistance, and resistance to various organic solvents, and is almost insoluble in all solvents. Meanwhile, polytetrafluoroethylene has the characteristic of high temperature resistance and extremely low friction coefficient, making it an ideal coating for easy cleaning of the inner layer of water pipes in addition to serving as a lubricant.
1. In terms of corrosion resistance: PTFE material has been widely used in many industries such as petroleum and textile due to its outstanding corrosion resistance performance. Representative ones include exhaust pipes, steam pipes, high, medium, and low pressure pipelines, valves, etc. Especially in harsh environmental conditions such as low temperatures and anti sticking that conventional materials cannot use, the advantages of PTFE are more evident.
